Improved Website Speed

We’ve upgraded our servers for the new year to help speed up your website! These upgrades include the OpenLiteSpeed web server, which is focused on WordPress sites. It also includes an optimized caching solution. We’ve implemented SSL termination at the load balancer, to reduce latency connecting to your website.

Your sites have already been upgraded and caching will be rolling out over the next couple of weeks!

Why speed matters

Website speed is important for both user experience and search engine rankings. Here are a few ways in which website speed can impact these areas:

User experience:

  • A slow loading website can be frustrating for users, who may give up and leave the site if it takes too long to load. This can lead to a high bounce rate, which can negatively impact the site’s traffic and conversions.
  • On the other hand, a fast loading website can improve the user experience by providing a smooth and seamless browsing experience. This can lead to increased engagement, such as longer visit times and more page views.

Search engine rankings:

  • Search engines, such as Google, prioritize fast loading websites in their search rankings. This means that a slower website may be ranked lower in search results compared to a faster website, which can impact the site’s visibility and traffic.
  • In addition, a fast loading website can improve the crawl efficiency of search engines, which can help the site\’s pages get indexed more quickly and thoroughly. This can lead to better search engine visibility and higher rankings.

Overall, website speed is an important factor to consider for both user experience and search engine optimization. Improving website speed can have a positive impact on these areas.
